CALL TO ORDER – President John Corbett called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. at 6314 West Park, St. Louis, MO. Ten members were in attendance; John Corbett, Lucy Corbett, Tom Corbett, Didi Gardner, Greg Gardner, Tom Haller, Carol Nemeth, Sally Sharamitaro, Bill Waterhouse and Joe Weisbrod.
Meeting Minutes -A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the May 9, 2009 meeting. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report – Sally Sharamitaro in the absence of Bob Corbett, Treasurer, presented the treasurer’s report covering the second quarter of 2009. The current balance is $3,501.66, and of that $3,244.99 is listed as in the bench account.
A motion was made and seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the treasurer’s report was approved
GENERAL BUSINESS
Archives/Donations-No report. Bob was conducting a Dogtown walking tour that ended with and included the St. James the Greater Church.

CURRENT BUSINESS
Labor Day Parade – Plans are in progress for the Labor Day Parade in Dogtown. Alderman, Bill Waterhouse, has applied to the city for the necessary parade permits for September 5, 2009 along Tamm Ave from Oakland to Lloyd Ave. It will be a small parade, maybe 10-15 floats. Meetings are scheduled with the City Police for traffic, etc.
John sent letters to 75 of the local unions and by the end of July said that he should have responses and an idea of how many of the unions choose to have floats in the Dogtown Labor Day Parade, etc.
The current timeframe for the parade remains 10:00am to noon on Saturday, September 5th 2009. Earlier that morning a special Labor Day Mass is planned at 8:00 am at St. James the Greater Church. Father Johnson is awaiting a call from the archbishop as to whether he will be available to celebrate the mass. Tom Corbett is putting together a list of those who we might call on to give the readings at the mass.
Soldier’s Memorial Project – The owner of the property has shown in various ways that he is willing to support the approval process. If the city approves the application, it will be a park forever and funds will be allotted for maintenance.
Although there was mention at several city park meetings as to whether the city needs another park, Alderman Bill Waterhouse is hopeful that the city will approve the application, and that we will hear sometime before Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2009.
