PACIFIC FIRE CLAY WORKS, Cheltenham.

Not the least among the fire-clay establishments of St. Louis is the Pacific; and, like most of the others, situated at Cheltenham. The company was chartered September, 1873, with a paid-up capital of $20,000, and the works, although as yet in their infancy, occupy quite an important position in this branch of industry. The products of this company are well known in all the principal marts of the South and West, where they compare favorably with the goods of all competitors, and where they find a ready sale. Mr. William Lindsay, an old and respected citizen, is at the head of the organization, occupying the position of president; and Mr. Geo. O. Kalb is secretary. Under the efficient management of these officers, the works are in a flourishing condition, and bid fair to attain a position in the world of trade equal to any of the older establishments in the same line.

================================

In the St. Louis City Directories Pacific is list just from 1873 to 1877. It does not appear before 1873 nor after 1877. The only address mentioned was "Cheltenham." However there were corporate addresses listed.

I did note that Mitchell Fire Clay was listed in 1873 and continues on. I wondered if perhaps Pacific merged with Mitchell.
