Mary Gruner Schmitz shares a great Father O'Connor story connected to this photo. Notice that unlike many of the other graduation photos, there is no nun pictured with the class. P.J. had come into the classroom just before they were to go and have this picture taken and told the class that the class of 1934 was one of the best classes St. James had ever had, but that THIS class was one of the worse. The nun, whose name Mary couldn't recall, was so angry with him that she would be photographed with him!
