• I noted on 2/5/2005 that the walking bridge over Hwy at Forest Park Junior College has been torn down.

• Did Charles Lindberg actually live in Dogtown, down on Lloyd Ave. as some have said? If so this needs to be documented and evidenced.

  Regarding Charles Lindbergh and other prominent citizens who visited St. Louis --

  My mother Mary J. Vorbeck typed a manuscript for a women, retired School Teacher, "Titled Prominent People who've Visited St. Louis. She had written other books on similar subjects.

  I can't for the life of me remember her name. But She, Mrs. McVey and Patty (all deceased) and my mother lived in the same building in the Plaza Apartments, Across from the Central Post Office on Market Street. I'll try and recall her name and will ask my brothers if they remembered her name.

  This all took place during the late 1960s someone may look up that title in the library and come across it. It may have where Lindberg stayed while in St. Louis.

• Can anyone help us locate the EXACT location of any of the mine shafts in Dogtown, or even any south of the train tracks?

• Missouri Gazette, May 3, 1817 is supposed to have a story about Sulphur Springs. This could be when the British naturalist John Bradbury who visited. Mo. Hist. doesn’t have that Source. Does Downtown library?

  It says it was a story about Sulphur Spring Cottage of William Wible.

  I simply can’t find it. Spent a long time studying the paper.

• Bill Vorbeck raises another topic: I wonder how many people living in Dogtown acted, danced, or sang at the Municipal Opera, in Forest Park. In the 1940s only local people could participate in the shows. I'm sure some people will remember those days.
