Below are several pictures. The first was taken by Sally Sharamitaro. The second was left at my door by RD Sprandel. If anyone gets more nice photos of this sign please share them with me for the DHS archives. Bob Corbett

FINISHED SIGN

This is the sign in its finished form.

This is the sign as it appears on the whole building.

Photo from June 16, 2007 -- Sign is about 60% finished.

Lonnie plans to work on the flour sack tomorrow, Sunday. And he hopes to finish up on Monday if all goes well.

First photo the Dogtown Historical Society took of this sign, in summer, 2006.

The sign reads:

CENTRAL AVE CASH

GROCERY AND MARKET

STANARD-TILTON MILL COM

ROYAL
PATENT
FLOUR

However, to the left of the sign is the faint outline of a flour sack. From two magazine sources we have to of their sack, it looks like these:

Thus Lonnie, the painter, will have to use the two sacks we have found and figure out how he will re-create the sack on the wall which is not legible.

The store was a grocery store and confectionery for many years, and many of you on this list who went to Dewey School wrote about going to this store.

It turns out from our research that Cash was the name of a grocery chain in the same way that Schnucks or Kroger was.
