Hope you will join us to have lunch at the new Forest Park Clubhouse at 12:15 PM on this Wednesday. To reach the clubhouse I recommend going down Skinker to the entrance to the park just at Forsythe Blvd, across from Wash U.

Enter the park there -- and the club house is only about 200 yards down the road. You can either park right up by the club house -- enter the driveway and go round, or right on the street across from the waterfall.

However, for those who would like a small guided tour, please just meet us earlier. At 11 AM I will be at the parking lot of Steinberg Skating Rink. I will have my car parked over near the opera to drive you back to your car. We will walk two areas:

  1. The wetlands area next to Steinberg.
  2. The "river" and rocks area that runs from Union to the Muny.

That's a walk of about 30-40 minutes. Then I'll drive you back to your car at Steinberg and lead you down to the club house for the lunch.

To get to Steinberg Skating Rink lot:

Two routes:

From Kingshighway right at Barnes Hospital, immediately north of the Hwy 40 entrance, take the entrance to the park and follow it round to the right to the lot.

From Hampton, take the route up to the Jewel Box, then along Clayton Ave. past all the ball fields, past the mounted police station, past the Planetarium entrance and on between the two lakes. At the end of the lakes there is a stop sign. Turn left and follow that road all the way round (bearing left) to the parking lot.

Please let me know if you plan to join us since I may need more than one car at the Muny to transport folks back to the Steinberg lot.

Hope a bunch of you can come, it will be fun to have a social occasion with you to add to this forum.
