#1080: Boston Globe Article - 11-23-99 (fwd)
From: John C. Kozyn <jckozyn@mnsinc.com>
I thought listers might be interested to read this article from todays
Boston Globe about the exhibit currently showing at the Embassy of the
Republic of Haiti in Washington, D.C.
The URL is:
http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/327/living/Sen_Sumner_gets_thanks_137_years_later+.shtml
(They allow searches a day later too)
More info about the Charles Sumner exhibit maybe found at the Embassy's
web site:
htttp://www.haiti.org/embassy
I must take issue with the title of the article though (probably
ignorance on the editor's part). As a matter of fact, Haiti _did_ thank
former Senator Charles Sumner for his efforts in getting the U.S. to
recognize Haiti.
