#1331: Haiti and Dominican deportations : A comment

From:bateyrelief@mindspring.com

Dear Tom,
I raised the same question last month at a conference in Canada with major
international organizations addressing the issue of the deportation. I do
not know whether some have thought of that these people would need to eat
and be sheltered once they are in Haiti. Although our organization, which
is serving the needs of the people being deported, it cannot provide relief
assistance for they are no longer in its jurisdiction in the batey once they
cross the borders.

But we are thinking about other ways for I will go to the DR in January to
discuss any legal methods that might be available to us to help. If you
wish to help or know of any organizations that might be willing to
collaborate with us in a relief operation, please contact us.

Sincerely,
Ulrick Gaillard
