I have learned from reliable sources in Jérémie

that certain people in that city have been  on state

payroll  for years in their capacity as firefighters.

During the recent fire, however, they were nowhere

to be seen.

All of this to say that the City of Montreal's gesture

will not change much unless and until the involved

institutions themselves are rebuilt.
