I don't see why you are so offended by this discussion.  I have found some
of the posts on the etymology of this insult to be scholarly and
enlightening - particularly Kathy Grey's insights on how the memory of the
African tradition of female mutilation lingered on in the Haitian psyche. 

Of course we wouldn't discuss the "F" or the "S" word on this list, because
they are English insults, but insults in any language do  reveal a great
deal psychologically and sociologically about any people.  And sharing
knowledge about Haiti and Haitians is the main purpose of this list. 

Analyzing why someone uses a particular insult is very different from
actually seeking to belittle someone by using the insult, and far from
being vulgar, I find the discussion relevant to this list.

Dear Sicla,

I guess it's low, but on the other hand, it's interesting... When I heard the 
expression, it wasn't said in an "insulting" or offensive way, but more like 
"Damn!" ("Get!") I don't remember ever hearing the entire expression.
