#2847: Embassy of Haiti Cultural Event - March 24th in Washington

I thought list members might be interested to know that the Embassy 
of Haiti will be hosting a unique cultural event with one of our 
felllow members on Friday, March 24th, when Prof. Patrick Bellegarde-
Smith of the University of Wisconsin will discuss:

"Contrasting Ideologies and National Identity: Afro-Haitian and 
Franco-Haitian Variants in Haitian Culture." 

Metro DC listers may wish to RSVP, since earlier this month, when  
Prof. Carrol Coates presented his "General Sun, My Brother" - the 
translation of the famous Jacques Stephen Alexis novel - it was SRO.
