Homebuying Fair to Be Held to Provide New Americans With Information
Necessary To Achieve the American Dream of Homeownership; Little Haiti
Housing Association, Fannie Mae Foundation, SanJuan Bosco And Miami-Dade
Community College Will Sponsor Fair

MIAMI, Fla., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Little Haiti Housing Association
Inc., in conjunction with Fannie Mae Foundation, San Juan Bosco and
Miami Dade Community College, will hold their first free ``New-Americans
Home Buying Fair'' on Saturday, April 1 from 10:00am - 3:00pm at Miami
Dade's Wolfson Campus located at 300 NE 2nd Avenue in downtown. The fair
will provide recent immigrants with information necessary to start them
onthe path to homeownership.
Future homebuyers will receive free copies of their credit report
courtesy of CBA Information Services and will have the chance to speak
with credit counselors. Local community organizations and businesses
will have exhibit booths at the fair where participants can go to obtain
mortgage loan and real estate information. Consumers will also
be able to meet with representatives from local immigrant housing
programs and services, and other social service providers.

``Homeownership is something that everyone desires, and through this
free homebuying fair, we will help thousands of Miami residents receive
the information they need to move closer to the American dream of
homeownership,'' said Jacques St. Louis, LHHA's Director of Housing.
Homebuying workshops will be conducted in Haitian Creole, Spanish and
English to provide future homebuyers with a forum where they can ask
questions about the homeownership process. Fairgoers will have the
opportunity to attend a financial freedom workshop where personal
finance topics such as establishing credit, repairing credit
problems and developing a budget will be discussed.``Lack of information
and fear of the homebuying process prevent many Americans from owning a
home,'' said Fannie Mae Foundation President and CEO Stacey Davis.
``This homebuying fair is a starting point for thousands of
families to help make their dream of homeownership a reality.''

The Fannie Mae Foundation will provide potential homeowners with the
following homebuying guides: Opening the Door to a Home of Your Own
which is available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Chinese,
Vietnamese,Korean, Polish, Portuguese and Russian; Choosing a Mortgage
That's Right for You which is available in English and Spanish; and
Knowing and Understanding Your Credit which is available in English and
Spanish.
