#4918: Medical mission in the bateyes of the Dominican Republic - June 2001 (fwd)

News from the Batey Relief Alliance (BRA)

BRA is sponsoring a medical relief mission in the bateyes of Monte Plata,
Dominican Republic, from June 8th through June 17th, 2001.

Free medical assistance and preventive health education will be
provided to the indigent population, including Haitian migrant
workers and families, in the areas of general medicines, pediatrics,
optometry and dental.  BRA will also donate free vitamin, medicine and eye
care products, condoms, prescription eye glasses and sunglasses to complete
patients' short-term treatment.

Volunteer pediatricians, internists, optometrists and dentists are
encouraged to apply by mailing a copy of their resume and professional
license to the BRA's new address.
