#5241: Francophone speakers needed for roundtable discussion (fwd)

From: karioka9@cs.com

Tele-Quebec is looking for one or two knowledgeable individuals of African-American parentage, born and raised in the U.S. but fluent enough in French, to take part in a roundtable discussion on the state of Black America in the year 2000.

"What assessment can one draw up after 250 years of slavery, one century of segregation, and more than thirty years of civil rights militancy and affirmative action? What place do African-Americans occupy in the culture, the social life and the economy of the United States? Do they feel finally accepted? Want they want to be?"

The show will be taped in Montreal in the evening of Oct. 25. Tele-Quebec will pay for hotel and travel expenses. If you wish to participate or know somebody else who qualify please write directly to me, no later than Friday, at the address above.
