La Troupe Makandal presents Part Two of Rising Sun (Solèy Lève), a Vodou
drama of death and rebirth in three parts. Summon the spirits of the
fiery Petwo nation as we head toward the Winter Solstice. Share in a
healing ben de chans (herbal luck bath) for the New Year. Keep Haiti's
roots culture alive! Dancing, drumming, and song under the direction of
Master Drummer Frisner Augustin (NEA Heritage Fellow 1999). Admission $7
at the door. Fine Haitian cuisine for sale after performance.

Saturday, 16 December, 7:30 pm, B.G. Restaurant, 1938 Rockaway Parkway
near Avenue N.
Transportation:
Subway/bus: L to Canarsie/Rockaway Parkway; transfer to #42 bus to Avenue

Road: Flatbush Avenue south to Flatlands Avenue; make left and follow
Flatlands to Rockaway Parkway; make right and follow Rockaway to Avenue
N.
OR, Belt Parkway to Exit 13. Exit onto Rockaway Parkway and follow to
Avenue N.
