PRESS RELEASE

La Troupe Makandal presents Part Three of  Rising Sun (Solèy Lève), a
Vodou drama of death and rebirth in three parts.  Close the Solstice
season with a koupe gato (cske cutting, a Three Kings ritual), then kick
off Karaval .  Keep Haiti's roots culture alive!  Dancing, drumming, and
song under the direction of Master Drummer Frisner Augustin (NEA Heritage
Fellow 1999).  Admission $7 at the door.  Fine Haitian cuisine for sale
after performance.

Saturday, 13 January, 7:30 pm
B.G. Restaurant, 1938 Rockaway Parkway near Avenue N.

Transportation:
Subway/bus: L to Canarsie/Rockaway Parkway; transfer to #42 bus to Avenue
N
Road: Flatbush Avenue south to Flatlands Avenue; make left and follow
Flatlands to Rockaway Parkway; make right and follow Rockaway to Avenue
N.
OR, Belt Parkway to Exit 13.  Exit onto Rockaway Parkway and follow to
Avenue N.
