Haiti President, WTO head in for CARICOM Intersessional

Bridgetown, Barbados, CANA - The newly-inaugurated President of Haiti, Jean
Bertrand Aristide, and the Director General of the World Trade Organisation
(WTO), Michael Moore, will be in Barbados for the Caribbean Community's
meeting of Heads of Government which begins Wednesday. The political
situation in Haiti, where the combined opposition has decided to form an
alternative government to Aristide's, as well as the Caribbean's quest for
fair treatment in international trade are among major political and economic
issues on the agenda for the three-day meeting. This will be the first
occasion that the WTO's Director General, Michael Moore, will be meeting
with heads of government of the 27-year-old Community.
