I cannot believe that Haiti is poorer than Kirgystan, for instance.
Or Moldova.
At least not when measured in dollars. Retirees in former Coviet 
countries
get pensions of $6 per month.

Their infrastructures and social structures still have the benefits of
the former athiest civilisation, true, but money wise they haven't got 
squat.
Of course, they still farm, and can feed themselves, which has gone out
of fashion in Hayti.
