<< If money is the focus, it taints the spirituality. >>

Money is not the "focus" of Vodou service. A Houngan or Mambo asogwe with a
functioning peristyle has made a full-time committment, and they have to eat!
We do not receive a salary as Roman Catholic priests do, so what do you
expect? We charge money for services, we share that money with our
congregation, which is more than I can say for the Catholic church, by the
way.

<<And to clarify, my problem with Manbo Racine is
not with her practices and beliefs but with her attitude. It is a matter of
 respect.>>

And you? You accuse us of "buying our way to a title in the so-called
heirarchy", you suggest that we should "practice quietly" and not speak out
publicly on issues in our religion... your language in this dialog has been
anything but respectful.

Peace and love,
