New revelations have been made about the incidents of 28 July. According to
the Dominican newspaper

El Siglo, about 300 former soldiers took part in the preparation of the
(?attempted) coup on 28 July. One

of the objectives was to take control of all the police stations in Haiti.

A communications problem among the main organizers was at the root of the
failure of this plan, according

to the newspaper, which explains that some of the organizers of the coup
came from the United States and

travelled through the Dominican Republic. It should be pointed out that
among the masterminds of this plan

are former police officials who left the country last year after they were
denounced as people who were

 involved in a plot to stage a coup d'etat against the Lavalas government.
They include Guy Philippe, Noel

Goodwork, Jean-Jacques Nau, Didier Seide, Fritz Gapard, [first name
indistinct] Mesidor and Jacques
