Creative Associates is seeking candidates for a three-
year USAID-funded project in Haiti for the following
positions:
Chief of Party: An expatriate with a graduate degree
in communications, print or broadcast media, or
related field; a minimum of eight years project
management experience in communications development
programs, preferably under AID-funded projects;
demonstrated strong organizational and strategic
thinking/planning skills, with proven ability to
function effectively in a highly politicized
environment. A background in reinforcing the
independence of the media or community organization is
preferred. The ability to command respect among a
wide variety of public and private officials is
essential. Fluency in French and English is required,
Creole preferred.
Training Coordinator: As the key advisor to the Chief
of Party concerning independence of the media and the
civic education campaign series, this person will be a
Haitian journalist or communication's specialist with
the experience and stature necessary to guide and
support journalist's associations. The candidate will
demonstrate an understanding of the constraints to the
effective functioning of the Haiti's print and
broadcast system is required, along with the
commitment to its reform. At least ten years
experience in developing media campaigns or civic
education series in Haiti is required, along with five
years experience as a trainer in the communications
field.
