I know that brother Bell has done far more research
on this than almost anyone, so I tremble to comment.
However, where angels fear to tread ( that would be
nice en kreyol )...
I am sure that I have seen the Hayti spelling from the
late 19th century.
Also, Roi Christophe was setting up english
language schools thru the north during his time, so
that hayti spelling MAY be authentic usage for the
kingdom, no?
I like spelling it Hayti anyway. Good enuf for
Frederick Douglas.
