Spring Valley, NY - Mapou Productions, in association with Radio Soleil
d'Haiti, hosts this Friday January 18, 2002 on Radio Soleil d'Haiti, New York
(97.9 FM sub-carrier) from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM a Radiothon during which its
historic December 29, 2001 Carnegie Hall concert will be broadcast.
Mapou Productions wants to offer to those who could not attend a chance to
hear these fantastic performers who graced the stage of this great
institution as well as contributing to the fund destined to help the families
of those Haitians who died at the World Trade Center on September 11 2001.
Said fund will be administered by Brooklyn-based Haitian Centers Council
(HCC).
The radio show will be simulcast on the Internet via www.radiosoleil.com and
on Radyo Sanba, 91.5 FM, New York (for the first hour). In addition, the
famous Haitian artist TIGA (Jean Claude Garoute) has donated a painting which
will be auctioned during the radio broadcast.
Bids can be made on the Internet.
This wonderful painting, the eclectic music of Haiti and those superb
performances that filled Carnegie Hall exemplify the solidarity of Haitian
artists with their community.
Mapou Productions is non-profit organization ###.
