A few years ago, there was a "New Yorker" article about Greene that I
believe mentioned in passing his time in Haiti.  That's all I know,
dilettante that I am.  I would enjoy researching this for  you, if you
would like.  There are probably others on this forum who will give you a
better answer before I get a chance at discovery on my own.
