The French closed down their slave-trading fort at Ouidah (kingdom of
Dahomey, modern Republic of Benin) in 1794 (during the early years of the
Haitian revolution, so they certainly were not transporting people from
there to Haiti or to anywhere else as slaves during the 1800s--the last 100
years of the slave trade.
