a1107: Names of French who survived Dessaline's massacre (fwd)

The following is a quote from Bob's website,

     "Dessalines first decided to get rid of the French who were in Haiti. Early
     in 1804, his first year of rule, he had the French killed, sparing only a
     few doctors, priests and essential exporters. It is generally thought that
     around 20,000 French were slaughtered . . ."

Might there be a list somewhere of those French who were spared?  Also, might there
be a list of those French who sided and fought along with the Haitians?
