a1185: Aristide campaigns for peace and unity! (fwd)

While addressing the people gathered at Leogane to celebrate the first
anniversary of his second term, on Feb 7th, Aristide did his best, as usual,
to promote civil peace, reconciliation, tolerance, mutual understanding,
national unity (see post # a714)!
But his demagogue’s speeches are also revealing of his shortcomings.
According to the BBC transcript and translation of Radio Nationale, he said:
“[Aristide] When you smell of sweat, do they like to get close to you?
“[Crowd] No.
“[Aristide] When you are not well dressed, do they like to get close to you?
“[Crowd] No.”
Saying this 5 days before Mardi-Gras, he simply confirmed that he never
immersed himself in the Port-au-Prince Carnaval crowds…
BTW, also revealing is the fact that the Aristide PR peoples on the list
choose to spare their fellow Corbetters this new example of their boss’s
demagoguery and double-talk.
