MIAMI BEACH -- U.S. Customs agents on Monday seized between 200 and 400
pounds
of cocaine hidden inside cargo containers on a freighter from Haiti. The
illegal cargo was concealed beneath a false bottom in two refrigerated
containers on the 200-foot freighter Linaki when it arrived near Fisher's
Island at the Port of Miami, Customs spokesman Zachary Mann said. The
agents
spotted the illegal cargo with a portable X-ray machine. Customs agents
were
interviewing the Linaki's crew, but no one was immediately charged, Mann
said.
