When I was a kid growing up in Brooklyn, my mother, Jeanine Antoine, was
very politically active within the Haitian community. She would often
take my sister and I (often against our will) to various demonstrations,
manifestations, and community events. Although I didn't know it back
then (during the late 70s and early 80s), these events would help me
form my views and are responsible for my being active in the Haitian
community today.

One event that stands out in my mind was a screening of a 'Dechoukaj'
video which I believe happened at Brooklyn's Erasmus Hall High School.
It was very graphic, and showed events leading to the end of
dictatorship in Haiti. I remember seeing Pere LeBrun (flaming tire
necklaces) applied to people, peasants squatting in abandoned homes of
Haiti's elite, people being assassinated, and many other disturbing
scenes that showed the true state Haiti was in during that time period.

Although I was too young to really understand or appreciate it then, I
want to see it again in order to get an adult perspective. I was
wondering if anyone knows how I can get a hold of this video. I vaguely
remember someone on the list mentioning it months ago, but I can't find
it in my archives. Any feedback would be appreciated.
