On the subject of reparations, I'd like to say that France should pay every
cent back to the Haitian government. The matter should be taken to the
floor of the UN by the Haitian government. I can only guess that Boyer
accepted to pay because he didn't want any more wars fo his people and his
country.
I find it very hypocritical of European countries and the US to be imposing
sanctions on the present Haitian government for not being democratic while
at the same time doing business with Musharaf from Pakistan, who took power
with a coup-d'etat. President Aristide or the Lavalas people may not be
perfect, but they were elected by the majority of the Haitian people. And I
am convinced about the fact that if Aristide were to change his ways and
took a more pro-US stand, all critics on the part of the US/western
governments would have ceased. They're making things difficult for Aristide
and Lavalas because of their leftist views.. Those sanctions have
therefore nothing to do with "democracy" or free elections.
Let's have free elections first in Pakistan/Egypt/Kuwait/Saudi Arabia, and
then we can talk..
I am also sick and tired of all these European countries and the US
meddling in the affairs of black countries (African/Caribbean). It's always
them telling us what they want or what to do. I haven't seen any black
countries meddling in their affairs. Our leaders across the world need to
wake up and stop taking orders. Help if you want, but stay out of our
internal affairs. It's not only our leaders who are corrupted. The level of
corruption is very high across Europe (Kohl/Germany, Chirac/France etc..).
And we're talking about big money!!!!!!!!
When that fraudulent election took place in the US, and Bush got "elected"
by Clarence Thomas and others inthe Supreme court, I didn't see one
European country telling the US to have new election or have the ballots
recounted. What a shame.!!!!!!!!!
