JOB ANNOUCEMENT
P/T Bookkeeper/Office Manager
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
DESCRIPTION: The National Coalition for Haitian Rights (NCHR) seeks a P/T
Bookkeeper/Office Manager (20-25 hours) with a proven track record as a
skilled bookkeeper with not-for-profit experience. The overall goal of the
P/T Bookkeeper/Office Manager is to provide support to the Executive
Director and offsite accounting consultant in the managing of the office's
fiscal operations and overall office coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare Bank reconciliation; assist with the monthly closings of the
general ledger account reconciliation, as well as preparation of financial
statements.
· Responsibilities for A/P, A/R and payroll functions.
· Assist with the maintenance of a well-organized, structured and
efficient office including the maintenance of office equipment and supplies.
· Assist with troubleshooting and resolving administrative issues.
· Assist with the implementation of strong internal control procedures
and financial policies.
· Provide support for audit preparation.
· Work on special projects for Executive Director as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a bookkeeper; direct experience
with a not-for-profit organization.
· Proven ability to deliver timely and accurate financial reports in
adherence to deadlines.
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting Software.
· Proven ability to implement administrative procedures to streamline
management and operations of small office (~ 8 staff)
· Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and tolerance for work under
pressure.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; outstanding
interpersonal skills.

Microsoft office Suite (Microsoft word 6.0, Excel 5.0 Microsoft Mail,
Windows Messenger), QuickBooks Pro 2002
COMPENSATION
Compensation commensurate with experience.
