subject: teledjol; rumours; truth vs. fiction

Some of Metayer's accusations and allegations are interesting, if not right
out in left field. However, as many people have mentioned at various times
there is a veritable treasure trove of information when moun fe teledjol.

1) Football: (a) I was informed a while back that Rinaldo and Ronaldinho
were both taken from haiti as young children and raised in Brazil. (b) I was
also told in the same conversation that Pele is in fact Haitian, not
Brazilian.

2) Aristide: I was told yesterday by someone that Titid has a large sum of
money in a bank account: 4 million U.S.dollars. I asked the woman how she
knew this. She said she knew someone who knew. I asked her why he would
allow that information to be known. She bluntly informed mecthat nothing is
secret in Haiti. Of course, she's not the first to tell me that. So i asked
her who killed Jean Dominique...

3)Power in Cap Haitian: I heard from a good source that Aristide conducted
an inverstigiation into why Cap Haitian had power only half the time, even
though they were getting enough gas for the generators. Apparently, the
director was selling some of the gas to line his own pockets. Aristide put a
stop to it, put in some one else and now they have power 24/7. I wish
someone could explain the port-au-prince situation.

4)Peligre: Explanations range from silt in the reservoir, to faulty
equipment, to state employees not caring too much.

5) I've been told that there could be power in Port-au-Prince all the time,
but the government doesn't want to show the intl community that its
possible.

Well, enough of the rumour mill. Explanations and comment would be welcome.
