That is a great question, difficult and easy at the same, but complex. You
sound like an independent (not a democrat or a republican), where you
believe in self-determination. Yes, you are right. The only and sure way to
help Haiti and Haitians is to get involved with your own government to be
able to access the 'American governors of Haiti', namely, in the State
Department, the Pentagon, the CIA, and the Latin-American & Caribbean office
on Haiti. Of course, even if you are American there is a high risk. When you
access them, let them know that Haiti is a nation with self-determination.
Although with each U.S. invasion of Haiti, a commander has always repeated
the following paraphrase in different forms and I quote "these negroes
cannot help themselves, we must help them", we sound like a contemporary and
free thinker, you can make a miniscule change that can bring about a real
change in centuries to come. Nonetheless, Haitian behavior, from a
psychological angle, seems to reflect that infamous quote from the generals.
Yes, you can help. Let them know that Haiti can govern itself even if after
they kill each other - but allow them self-determination and independence
with - of course - nation-state to nation-state interdependence through
diplomacy - and, of course, Haiti is no threat to America and would not
incite Black America to turn American into something, like Haiti, a fatal
mistake.
Also, let them know that Democracy is not a one-size that fits all.
Democracy in closely related to culture, education, wealth, and
redistribution of wealth.
There so much to tell them, as a good citizen, you can be in trouble. Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, and Japan are different from Haiti.
Anonymous poster, Haiti believes that, with Haiti like other small
countries, we must redesign our American foreign policies.
Of course, alone you will not be able to influence your government but as a
PAC you can make a huge difference! I welcome your free thinking - you sound
like someone from the another new school!
