It was on an Art Garfunkle album (after the split with Simon) and he sang it
with a French accent but it is a Kreyòl folk song.  I didn't know it was
Haitian until my husband joined me in singing along with the record!  (At the
time I didn't understand the words I was singing)  He told me that this song
used to be a signal for trouble during the Duvalier government.  If you heard
it played on the radio, it warned the people to be careful...something bad
was about to happen.

It can't be French in origin as it refers to an Houngan (si pou bon
gangan...) and asks him for help in saving her child (petit mwen malad).  Fey
refers to Dokto Fey....the Haitian leaf (herbal) doctor.  It is a sweet,
lovely song and lends itself to two part harmony.
