13227: Jean Jean-Pierre responds to Senou on a coalition government in Haiti (fwd)
From: jean jean-pierre <jeanjp2@juno.com>
Senou wrote:
<<Let put aside the current OAS resolution; Lavalas and
the Convergence shall return to the negotiation table,
please do your best to reach a political compromise.
Put in place a new government, appoint a new prime
minister with either Mr. Bazin, Mr. Theodore, Prof.
Latortue (you must ask him ) and some others well
respected folks in the country, they will form a
coalition government with all sectors.>>
I am beginning to detect you are seriously serious (thanks Jean Du
Tuyeau) about
your ideas on jettisoning the OAS, forming some coalition government in
Haiti with the Convergence and patati et patata.
Foremost, for your knowledge, the Democratic Convergence -which had
gotten its blood from Washington and the Lavalas party [the first for
using it as a proxy to keep Aristide in check and the second for wasting
precious time talking to those law breakers {they formed a parallel
government, didn't they?} ]- no longer exists.
Manigat left. Liddy Parent left. Reynold Georges (got the money and)
left. Bunch of other particles left. So who is left? Hey, follow the
money.
So let's talk about the Convergence in the past tense.
Truth is, since Washington has plenty of dough to loose, they will
quickly form another opposition coalition. Watch!
You also wrote that the opposition is not ready. You must be kidding.
Those guys
squandered 5 years (Preval's term) and never won the hearts of the
people. They did not even try. Do you think they can (and will) do it in
one year?
These guys are not interested in coalition government. All or nothing.
For our traditional politician, politics is a profession.
