13433: Nlbo: Some concerns from Nekita (fwd)
From: Nlbo@aol.com
Dear Corbeteers,
I have not had a chance to write for a while, but have read various posts. I
am particularly concerned about people who had to drop out of this discussion
line because of threat.
Why would someone be concerned so much? We are not harmful people in
Corbett's line. The cold war is over. What are people's worries?
I have had veiled threats made to me also because I am addressing the poor
ministry that is happening in the Boston area. For 30 years, there had never
been a meeting gathering the faithful. There is no systemic formation on
christian ( catholic or protestant) doctrines. To sum it up, both catholic
and protestant churches through their pastoral work are keeping Haitians
excluded in the society. All I am saying is people need to be involved, go
to meetings, vote, have literacy/ ESL or other education programs in the
parishes, train the laity on Vatican II and deemphasize popular
piety, especially the charismatic or pentecostal movements.
I am a practicing Catholic and don't think I am saying anything that is
contrary to the Church's teachings.
