My wife and I adopted our daughter from Haiti almost
nine years ago.  We just began the process again and
learned that there has been some difficulty with the
U.S. Consulate in Haiti.  As a result, no children
have been adopted by U.S. families in approximately
nine months.  Our understanding is that this has
nothing to do with Immigration or the government of
Haiti.  The information provided to us indicates that
there is a particular individual in the consulate that
appears to be responsible for putting up obstacles to
families trying to adopt from Haiti.  Can anyone shed
any light on this issue?
