The Haitian police dispatched several special units to the Convergence's
headquarters today to give security to the event scheduled there today.

National Palace draped in black with black flags hanging in memory of those
who lost their lives last year during attack on National Palace.

Covergence holding meeting at their headquarters attended by press.  Press
have reported that a journalist from Tele Timoun, who was wearing a tee-shirt
with President Aristide's image on it, was roughed up and thrown out of the
Convergence event.  Tele Timoun, is a television station that originally grew
out of President Aristide's program for children, which has a radio show.  It
is a professional station and airs a nightly news show.

Thousands of government supporters rallied in front of the National Palace
today and at approximately 2 pm were invited onto the grounds.
