Are you for or against the withholding of the 500
million dollars loan to Haiti?
Whether you are for or against it, you cannot do
anything about it, so speak your mind.
Now, since you know the position of the international
community, what the Haitian people or the current
leaders must do.
Do not waste your time talking about fairness. Life is
not fair. Imagine seeing everybody driving over the
speed limit and you are the only one pulled over. Is
it fair? You ask the wrong question; were you driving
over the speed limit? If yes, the ticket is justified.
Period.
Many people seek advices before they get married but
you should ask an experienced person. Do you believe a
Catholic priest is the best person to give advice on
marriage? You learned by experiences or from the
experiences of others. If you are serious, you should
ask a happily couple, a couple that may have problem
in their marriage, a divorcee. Then you will combine
all and see which one you will follow.
If you never raise a child, you don’t know what it
takes to raise a child.
What this has to do with Haiti?
Well, OAS after the failed election in Haiti had
decided to help solve the problem. But, OAS had never
done anything since its creation. The idea about the
canal treaty is ridiculous the People of Panama would
kick out the U.S. anyway but the Americans chose
negotiation instead of confrontation. The only thing
that organization had done is to kick Cuba out and the
vote of Haiti was crucial and Guess who had voted Cuba
out under the direct order of Dr. Duvalier? The
architect to the Tonton Makoute: __.
During the Falkland war, OAS had sided with the
British, the US navy had helped the British sank the
biggest battle ship of Argentines.
OAS had invited himself to lead the negotiation and
that organization does not understand its role as a
mediator. It had switched side many times and it had
dictated what must to be done. This is Bachelor in
Science in abbreviation.
  Those of you who go with that OAS shame do not
understand the role of a mediator.
I taught conflict resolution a few years ago, I
strongly believe OAS is not a mediator or facilitator.
Mediation: Resolving conflicts with the assistance of
a neutral third party who does not influence the
solution.

May be the OAS is arbitrating the conflict:
Arbitration: Resolving conflicts with the assistance
of a neutral third party who directs the solution.

In using the word neutral in both mediation and
arbitration OAS is automatically disqualified to
handle the Haitian conflict.

At least that organization could have had the respect
to invite the parties in conflict before imposing the
November 4 deadline. But in order to ask for respect,
you must respect yourself as well.
Most of you may recall the conflict
Israeli-Palestinian where every country in that region
was invited except the Palestinians. This was a joke.
Haiti is having the same problem: the Convergence and
the Lavalas are discussing the faith of the Haitian
people. Two archenemies that have a total distaste for
each order are forced to negotiate the future of Haiti
with an organization that has no record.
