I see this as good news. It time we stop putting all our eggs in one
 basket.

HAITIAN-AMERICAN REPUBLICAN CLUB of SOUTH FLORIDA

It is time for we Haitian-Americans to stand up and be counted. We are
calling on all Haitian-American Republicans, independents and like-minded
individuals to join us in launching the Haitian American Republican Club of
South Florida, HARC of South Florida.

“We meet at a remarkable time in the life of our country. Our country,
after an era of drift, must set itself to important tasks and higher goals.
The Republican Party has the vision and leadership to address these issues.”

 Join us on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Gatsby’s, 8575 SW
 124th Avenue, Miami, (305) 412-2220 for Directions.

Do not miss this exciting event. Spread the word. >>

This is a matter of perspective too. It is no surprise that if you were
privileged in Haiti and saw the elite status as a station in life to aspire
to, you would see the Republican Party as the elites of the US and aspire to
that too. They are the elites, and believe me, though they want to cultivate
your votes, they do not want you to move to their neighborhoods. It always
cracks me up that a whole bunch of gays, Hispanics and Blacks (both US born
and not) join the Republican Party thinking you are all one big happy family.
You know they have a separate room for y'all. Is it that you want to be
part of the ruling class here too?

When I read what Eduard thinks is good news, it makes me sad. Just more
exclusion. That's what the Republican Party stands for. And that's why they
support the minority in Haiti. Money first.
