Ms. Fouch, I could not agree with you more on almost everything, except
the
part where you believe it will be good for Haitians to diversify their
political allegiance in the US. You clearly imply that Haitians, by
joining the
party in power today in Washington, would have a greater access to the
^capitalist corporate sector^ and they would have a greater influence from
within to alleviate the dismal economic situation in Haiti. That will
never
happen^It^s a fallacy to believe for one second that Haiti will be rescued
by
the Democrats or the Republicans. Haiti will be saved only by her sons and
daughters, when they decide to bury the hatchet and work for the common
Res Publica. Stability, law and order are essential for any society to
flourish and
absolutely necessary to attract any kind of sustained investment in the
country. Unfortunately those are exactly the ingredients desperately
lacking in
Haiti for the past 17 years, following the Duvaliers^ reign of terror.
