in association with the Haitian Musical Heritage Foundation presents:

"Haiti: The Rhythms, The Dances and The gods''

Carnegie Hall, Friday, May 23, 2003 at 8:00 PM.

This  historical/cultural dramatization will depict two hundred years
of freedom and a glimpse at  the next two hundred years, in homage
to our heroes.  The event will feature a multiplicity of talents, such as:
Danny Glover, Boulo Valcourt, Emeline Michel, James Germain,
Erna Letemps, Jean Claude Eugene, Beethova Obas,  and Kiskeya:
The Haitian Orchestra led by Jean Jean-Pierre.

Coming from Haiti to participate in this grandiose festivity: pianist
Welmyr Jean-Pierre and the truly exceptional Aykodans Dance Co.
directed by internationally renowned choreographer Jeanguy Saintus.
Rounding up this impressive array of talents, the audience will be
treated to no less than Master Drummer Mapou Azor himself,
coming from Haiti for the occasion, where he will be showcased
with two other Haitian Master Drummers of the New York metro
area: the wonderful Friztner Augustin and incomparable Bonga.

Additionally, Japanese violinist Kimiko Nakazawa will come from
Japan to participate in this salute to the birth of our national and
international symbol of freedom.

This cultural festivity will be the kick off of a series of events
culminating in the commemoration of Haiti's independence bicentennial
in the year 2004.

Winning Filmmaker and Producer of The Agronomist, "Haiti: The Rhythms,
The Dances and The gods" is poised to be a very successful show
projecting the greatly diverse culture of Haiti on the international plateau
where it deserves to be."
