Students of Haiti in the Boston/Cambridge area may be interested in
attending an upcoming Ph.D. dissertation defense at Harvard University.  The
dissertation is by Erica Caple James and is entitled "The Violence of
Misery: 'Insecurity' in Haiti in the 'Democratic' Era."  The defense will
take place this Thursday, May 1, at 4pm, in the seminar room on the top
floor of William James Hall, which is located at 33 Kirkland St. in
Cambridge.
