Bilingual programs exist to assist children whose primary language is other
than English to learn a core curriculum (mathematics, science, social
studies, etc.) without having to cope with an unfamiliar language. Children
whose primary language is Creole best learn a core curriculum taught in
Creole since that is the language in which their minds process information.

The core curriculum is difficult enough without that additional challenge.
Beyond learning the core curriculum, facility in English will best serve
children who will make there home in the US. In a well-financed biligual
curriculum with Creole as a base-language, classes in French, Spanish, Latin
and Italian could be offered in addition to English.
