The harmonization of policies, cooperation in the cultural industries
sector, diversity and cultural patrimony in the Africa, Caribbean and
Pacific (ACP), are the main subjects for discussion in the organisation's
meeting that will bring together the member state's culture ministers,
taking place in Dakar (Senegal), from Friday.

In this conference, actually the first of this kind, the ministers will
also discuss the possibility of creating a Cultural Found for the ACP as
well as the institutionalization of a cultural festival, having the first
edition been set for 2004, in Haiti.

The event is being attended by culture ministers from 78 member states and
by the secretary-general of the organisation, Jean Robert Goulongana and
is aimed at laying the foundation for a cultural cooperation among the
countries members of the ACP.

Angolan Culture minister, Boaventura Cardoso, is attending the meeting.
