Haitian blue is a registered trademark of FACN, the federation of native
coffee, which is comprised of approximately 33 peasant coffee associations
totalling approximately 30,000 small coffee producers. HB is a fair-trade
washed coffee, that that does not come from Baumont, but is a blend of high
altitude arabica coffee carefully selected from the associations in areas
ranging from the Grande Anse (including the Baumont area) to Marmlade,
Thiotte and Jacmel areas.
It is marketed in The US via Barnies, Coffee Masters, and Green Mountain.
Nordstroms Department store recently featured it in its speciality section.
It is also sold in Europe (see the Malongo website in France) as well as in
Japan. FACN has received and continues to received technical and limited
financial support from USAID/Haiti.
In order to insure quality and purity of the blend, coffee is marketed
thorough exclusive contracts and sold only as whole beans to roasters. It
is also available in Haiti and beginning to expand to the greater Caribbean
marketed by Marabou Coffee
