rumours are flying that mildred trouillot aristide might run for president.
manigat's name is being tossed around as well, not to mention the one and only
marc bazin.  but stay tuned, aristide still has time to pass a constitutional
ammendment to do away with presidential term limits, which would open the
door for him to become president a vie.  many look for dany toussaint also to
run. i am wondering if dieuveil joseph is going to run this time... he has been
in all but one presidential election since namphy, running on a the Virgin Mary
Political Party ticket.  Seriously!
were i haitian i think i would vote for the last guy... a slight change to
the once ubiquitous graffiti in port-au-prince that read "Vive la
Christocratie--Seul Espoir pour Haiti"... here we could have Mariocratie... a women's touch
could do wonders, no?  imagine a foreing policy meeting between Joseph and US
president Ventura?!?!?!
well, at least it ain't boring.
