John Craft Danies sent the Michael Radu article, full of extreme right-wing
and racist lies, to Ezili Danto. Said article is entitled "Clinton's Haitian
Nightmare", and, is dated January 22, 2004 and posted at
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/authors.asp?ID=575, on Front PageMagazine.com .

First off, all one has to do is go on Front PageMagazine's forum discussing
this article to know, right away, we are dealing with people not far from being
kindred spirits with the KKK.

Thus, Ezili Danto responds, nix the National Endowment For Democracy lies and
propaganda intended to keep Haiti a service area of the rich and racist and
check out objective, less emotional and definitely more factual and better
researched piece, as reported, by press release issued by the Council on
Hemispheric Affairs laying out the complex current issues facing our Haitian people. It

Also, since the Michael Radu article purports to tell about the Coup D'etat
history which led to the return of Aristide by the US, try this site for the
FACTS on that CIA-backed 1991 Coup D'etat deposing Aristide in 1991 and, later,
through the State Department, insisting on amnesty for their imperial agents
before bringing back Aristide to face the NED/IRI/USAID anti-people propaganda
machine whose sole purpose in Haiti, to date, has been to leave as many of
their ex-military cohorts armed and  intact while reducing the power of  Lavalas,
Aristide, the grassroots organizations and weakening the unions and the
popular movements in general.

This has been the sole mission of the US and International community since
the 1990 elections, no matter their pro-democracy propaganda to the contrary.
They've more or less achieve their goal of creating impasse, chaos and
dissension amongst Haitians by forcing Aristide to consistently negotiate with the une
lected "opposition" just as they forced him to negotiate and make concessions
to the Coup D'etat leaders back in 1991 - 1994. In effect, the US has used its
power - financial, political and media power -to give its imperial agents in
Haiti, a de facto veto power, over the Aristide mandate.

It's the divide and conquer blueprint of the traditional imperialist. Thus
NED/USAID/IRI/IDB/WORLD BANK/EUROPEAN UNION/OAS policymakers create and fund the
 so-called "opposition" in Haiti while squeezing Lavalas discontentS into
joining their ranks as much as possible. To wit,  the 2000 W. Bush embargo
against the people's government and Haitian society in general has been duly
enforced. Buying time to starve the Haitian poor and to destroy the Haitian people's
democratic gains since 1990, while, for instance, the 1991 embargo sanctions
against the Coup leaders, which the US insisted, should get total amnesty for
their bloody Coup d’etat, were prepared with the intention of failing. And were
never enforced.
