Let me see if I get this straight. The writer wants us to believe Aristide
spin doctors and distrust IRI, NED, US-State Department, USAID, IMF, IDB,
World Bank and the European Union, AP, Reuters, New York Times, Wall Street
Journal, The Washington Post, CNN, CBS, NBC, NPR and even former OAS
delegates in the grand global "conspiracy" to discredit Aristide. Because
Aristide is an honorable man.
Funny, in a GOOGLE and Lexis Nexis search. There are zero, zip, nada
records of a "Haitian Lawyers Leadership" which she claims to Chair. Is this
another conspiracy?
For more on her global insight I highly recommend
RED BLACK & MOONLIGHT
@2000 Marguerite Laurent; Windows on Haiti special edition
A dramatic memoir by Marguerite Laurent, Esq., based on her experience in
Haiti in 1995. This theatrical piece is a segment of a larger work, Kenbe
La: Crossings Of A Vodun-Roots Woman that tells the story of a young
Haitian-American lawyer who, bolstered by her success in America, goes to
Haiti, believing (naively, at first) that she has the power to bring
positive change to her ancestors’ complex and tormented island.
