18303: Jean-Mary: "Connecticut's Klib Kreyol honors Haiti's history" (fwd)
From: Ralph Jean-Mary <Ralph.Jean-Mary@ynhh.org>
Klib Kreyol (NEW HAVEN, CT) invites you to honor the history of a people who made the impossible a reality as we celebrate Haiti's 200 years of Independence as the Western Hemisphere's first Black nation. As the title of the conference suggests, we seek to shed light on an honest and truthful representation of Haiti-something that is not often provided in the media here in the U.S. It is our goal to break the silence concerning the Haitian revolution's impact, the effect of US policies, and the struggles of the Haitian people both in the US and in Haiti.
